The EABC celebrated the Holidays at the new Marlin & Barrel distillery in Fernandina Beach. Owner Roger Morenc hosted this special event by offering a preview tour of the distillery set up to open in late December 2014. The tour was informative and fun and we all agreed that this future tourist attraction will be unlike anything else in Fernandina Beach. The new owner of the nearby Bright Mornings Café provided the food for this […]

August 2014 – Lt. Dooley and Scott Basset ‘WOW’ed our group with their presentation about the Kingsbay Submarine Base
What a great presentation this was! No one even noticed that Navy Captain Guffey, the planned speaker, was not able to attend. Instead the Base sent Lieutenant Dustin Dooley, the Submarine Base Operation Officer and Scott Bassett the Public Affairs Officer. The Kingsbay Submarine Base was commissioned in 1978 by President Jimmy Carter and houses one of the largest buildings in Camden County. We also learned that there are two crews for each submarine, the […]
It’s summer and we wanted to have some fun, so Andrew and Tim decided to come up with a Trivia game which was designed to even have been a little useful for business people. Certainly it tested the international knowledge of all the participants. Many of the trivia questions started conversations amongst the randomly drawn teams. Who knows some new friendships have been started that evening. One thing is certain everyone had a great time […]
Steve Livingstone, Club president of the ARMADA FC visited us with some of his crew and gave us some insight about what the team is planing in the upcoming season. Steve is originally from Scotland and he explained that Jacksonville is quickly becoming a training destination for international and national soccer teams. Once ARMADA FC has decided on their steady home base they plan some major improvement to the fields and have a soccer complex built in 2018. He pointed out that Football (soccer) highly depends on its fans. “A team is nothing without its fans”.

The Pound Puppies were born! However, not everyone believed in this idea and he was rejected 14 times, however he kept at it since he believed in his product so much. The Pound Puppies were officially launched in 1984 in […]

Even thought he only could touch the surface this sometimes controversial subject, he explained the the three (3) pillars […]
