Our speaker for the September 2016 meeting was the well known and highly respected local architect John Cotner. Mr. Cotner has been involved with many significant architectural projects on Amelia Island and has extensive experience in single and multi-family housing design and construction, specialty commercial, restoration, religious, hospitality and assembly architecture. He is also an expert in land planning and graphic design.
His presentation to the EABC addressed the benefits of a less prescriptive public/private approach to development of our built environment from infrastructure to public services, recreational facilities and philanthropic efforts.
Mr. Cotner is a graduate of Georgia Institute of Technology, L’ecole des Beaux Arts, Paris and Pennsylvania College of Technology. He is associated with American Institute of Architects, National Trust for Historic Preservation and the North East Florida Builders Association.
